FOUNDERS

We're two sisters from Amsterdam. Rosan spent years living on Lombok, where she was inspired by the talent of local women and what they can create by hand. Sophie has a background in fashion and wanted to shine a spotlight on this crochet talent in Europe through bold, colourful designs. Together, we started SUKA.

LOMBOK LOCALS

Mia is a Lombok local and has been crocheting since she was young. She is the one who brings our designs to life. By teaching other women in her village how to crochet, she shares her knowledge and helps them build their own income. Together, we are building a growing crochet community. In Lombok, many women have limited opportunities to earn a stable income, as they are often expected to care for their household and children. Through SUKA, they are able to crochet from home and receive a fair wage for their work. This allows them to support their families while staying close to home. Together, we create colourful accessories and real opportunities.

VERY SLOW FASHION

At SUKA, we do things differently. No trends to chase. No overproduction. No waste. Just handmade accessories. Life on Lombok is slow and colourful. And that’s exactly how we see it. This is very slow fashion, the SUKA way. Wear SUKA, and become part of our slow fashion story
